{"id":4632,"date":"2025-12-19T12:57:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T12:57:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gcnp.org.pk\/macn\/?p=4632"},"modified":"2026-02-05T18:38:49","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T18:38:49","slug":"issues-highlighted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gcnp.org.pk\/macn\/issues-highlighted\/","title":{"rendered":"Issues Highlighted"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Issues Highlighted<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GCNP-MACN initiated a discussion on national-level policy regarding maritime issues.<\/li>\n<li>GCNP-MACN liaised with government departments for simplified immigration procedures and stronger port community collaboration.<\/li>\n<li>GCNP-MACN initiated the idea of a Help Desk for the shipping sector and worked closely with Pakistan Single Window.<\/li>\n<li>GCNP-MACN arranged and conducted advanced-level training and interactive sessions for senior and middle management.<\/li>\n<li>The issue of stuck-up containers was resolved as a result of MACN\u2019s efforts.<\/li>\n<li>MACN helped in arranging a discussion on 9,000 pending auction containers, and customs assured to accelerate the process by shifting to the e-auction procedure.<\/li>\n<li>The shipping sector licensing examination has been pending for the last 10 years. Efforts were made and a curriculum was proposed by MACN in consultation with the shipping sector (APSA, PSAA and PIFFA) to hold the examination at the earliest.<\/li>\n<li>GCNP-MACN helped Pakistan Customs in changing the customs licensing process and facilitated the introduction of transparent procedures.<\/li>\n<li>MACN took up the matter of harassment and discretionary practices with the relevant government agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Arranged training sessions to implement the new module in PSW, i.e., the Port Community System, to reduce human interface.\n<ul>\n<li>Helped to resolve substantial issues related to immigration for the shipping lines\u2019 staff. Subsequently, amendments were made in the relevant SOPs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Interacted with stakeholders, including ports &amp; shipping officials and PSW, to introduce a complaint redressal system.<\/li>\n<li>Recommended standardization in transport route tracking and monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>Appreciation from Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) on MACN\u2019s Collective Action Program and operations through Pakistan Single Window\u2019s Port Community System.<\/li>\n<li>MACN guided and assisted the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce &amp; Industry (FPCCI) in drafting a new Shipping Policy.<\/li>\n<li>MACN has been at the forefront in drafting and finalizing federal budget proposals for the Finance Ministry for the past several years.<\/li>\n<li>GCNP-MACN &amp; Bahria University co-developed ethics-based training modules for maritime reform.<\/li>\n<li>At the request of Bahria University, APSA, PSAA, and PIFFA, GCNP-MACN is designing curricula of diploma programs and professional certificate programs for the shipping sector and maritime industry.<\/li>\n<li>Promoted anti-corruption values and ethical training among cadets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Issues Highlighted &nbsp; GCNP-MACN initiated a discussion on national-level policy regarding maritime issues.
