The GCNP and MACN team organized a training session at the Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) Training Institute on February 28, 2023. The GCNP and MACN team comprised Mathias Bak, Associate at MACN, Martin Zapata, Senior Officer for Academic Programs at IACA, Muhammad Akram, Project Manager at GCNP, Syed Tanvir Ahmad, Project Advisor, GCNP, and Fawad Zahir, GCNP.<\/p>\n
The training was conducted by Mathias Bak, Associate at MACN, and Martin Zapata, Senior Officer for Academic Programs at the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA). Both trainers explained the activities of MACN and Collective Action approach taken at various countries and its advantages to the maritime stake holders were highlighted to the PIFFA trainees at their training institute. The main objective of the training session was to educate participants on the best practices for combating corruption in the maritime industry. The training was aimed at professionals and students in the freight forwarding, with the aim of increasing awareness of the risks associated with corruption and how to implement effective measures to prevent it. The training session was divided into different sections, each addressing a different aspect of corruption prevention in the maritime industry. The topics covered included corruption risks in the maritime industry, international best practices for combating corruption, and practical measures that can be implemented to prevent corruption. The trainers used real-world examples and case studies to illustrate the impact of corruption on the maritime industry.
